Hey, Hey... It's The Wrigley Field Seating Chart
Located below is the Chicago Cubs historic and legendary Wrigley Field seating chart.
Wrigley Field was orignally built in 1914 as Weeghman Park with 14,000 seats. Today, it seats 41,600 people and with standing room only attendance included it can have a capacity of over 42,000.
Unlike most major league baseball stadiums, the rooftops across the street from the outfield on Waveland and Sheffield Ave's sell tickets for people to watch the Chicago Cubs play, but are not included in the official totals in the Wrigley Field seating.
The best seats in the ballpark are the box seats shown in the light purple and light green areas of the Wrigley Field seating chart shown below (sec 4-142). All of the seats in these areas are not blocked by support structures or upper-deck overhangs. In the other sections of the main concourse seating, one may have obstructed views of the field from row 7 and further back in the 200-level seats.
If you find seats in the outfield area of the main concourse, the seats are angled toward home plate, so one doesn't need to sit at an angle with their necks strained to watch the game. This design creates less seats, but the stadium was built for fan comfort over packing in more seats.
The seats that are most likely to have obstructed views from the support structures are those on the aisle, the lower-numbered seats. Also, the farther back you're seated, the more of a chance the upper deck is going to block your view of pop-ups or other balls hit in the air. The stadium does have monitors installed in those areas, although those monitors are not all aligned for the best viewing from every seat.
