Washington Nationals Stadium (Nationals Park)
Located below information on the Washington Nationals stadium, Nationals Park.
The stadium is located one block from the green line Metro subway stop at Navy Yard. The city does not have any kind of agreement with the Washington Nationals or with Nationals Park in providing transportation to/from games. If you're planning to attend an evening game that goes late and an announcement is made over the intercom that the last Metro train will be leaving at a certain time, make sure you leave and can get to the subway station in time. Otherwise, you could end up with a pricy taxi cab ride.
Washington Nationals Stadium - Center Field
Entrance
Having a stadium located in the nations capital, there are certain restrictions that have to be adheared to when building a stadium. For Nationals Park it meant that the stadium could not stand higher than any of the monuments in the city. For that reason, the stadium had to be dug down deeper than normal and actually sits lower so that the upper deck of the stadium meets that standard for not being taller than any of the monuments.
Ted Williams
As you walk around Nationals Park you're going to notice blue
pillars at the back of nearly every section. Each pillar is dedicated
to
one of baseball's greatest players and it's the Nationals way of paying
tribute to them. You'll see the likes of Stan Musial, Ted Willaims,
Mickey Mantle and even Joe DiMaggio. It's one of the things that makes
Nationals Park unique.
Baseball Hall of Famer - Ted Williams.
On the upper deck beyond right field is an area called the Scoreboard Walk. There you'll find a large Miller Lite bar and large outdoor area shaded by trees, with wicker tables and chairs to relax in and a stage setup for a pre-game concert. It's a very, very nice place to go and relax before the game and one of those special areas you won't see at every stadium.
If you're looking to impress someone with special tickets to the game, get tickets in the Stars and Stripes Club. This club covers two levels and has a view of the Anacostia River and more food options than one has offered if they sit in the regular stadium seats.
Another option is the PNC Diamond Club that offers food to be brought to you in your seat and has great views of the game.
The Washington Nationals have some of the least expensive tickets available for for their games. The majority of tickets are less than $50 and the cheapest ticket goes for $10.
In 2012 the Washington Nationals went to the playoffs for the first time in their history and giving D.C. a different meaning, Division Champs!
It wouldn't be a park in Washington, D.C. without a section of seats called the Presidential seats. And, it goes without saying that they are the most expensive tickets in the stadium and located right behind home plate.
Gates Open
The center field gates at Washington Nationals stadium opens two and a half hours before game time. All other gates open one and a half hours before game time. When games are played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the Scoreboard Walk area also opens two and a half hours before game time. More information on the Scoreboard Walk area is located below.
Nationals Park Food Choices
If you're bringing your own food or drinks, it must be inside single serving bags within a soft-sided container or cooler that does not exceed 16" x 16" x 8". Metal, plastic or glass containers of any kind (except for factory-sealed, clear plastic water bottles, no larger than 1 liter, baby food, empty Nalgene bottles and juice boxes) are prohibited at Nationals Park. Only one bottle of water per person will is allowed in the ball park.

Scoreboard Walk
In the stands beyond right field at Washington Nationals stadium is the Scoreboard Walk. There you'll find a Miller Lite bar area with counter-top table and chairs near-by. Just across the walkway and next to the escalator is a lounge area.
I found this to be a great area to go to before the game. They have comfortable wicker furniture to sit on that seems pretty upscale. At first I thought it was an area I'd need a pass to get in, but it's available to anyone.
A pre-game concert stage is setup here as well, but concerts are scheduled only on Thursday, Friday and Saturday's before a game. So you can kick back and relax with a cold beer or soda from the Miller Lite bar before then head over to watch the game.
If you take the subway to the game, this area is very close to the entrance/exit to get back to the subway.
After The Game - Half Street Fairgrounds
If you took the subway to the game at Washington Nationals stadium, don't try to fight the crowd getting back on the subway after the game is over.
Directly across the street from the Navy Yard subway station is a party area open to the entire family called Half Street Fairgrounds.
Here you'll find TONS of space for cornhole games, food trucks, large tent areas, a concert stage and balconies for people watching and looking down over the entire area. It has the feel as THE PLACE to go after a Nats game.
The food and drinks might be a bit pricy, but standard for anything in the D.C. area.
It's located at 20 M St SE (between S Van St & S Capitol St).
Enjoy some cornhole with a group of friends after the game. There are plenty of sets there to use and near-by places to get a beer or soda to drink while you play. There are always plenty of people and it's tons of fun. You might even meet some new friends!
Located at one end of the Half Street Fairground is a concert stage with plenty of room for dancing and picnic tables to sit at to enjoy the music while dancing the night away. If all of the picnic tables are taken, there's a party deck that overlooks this area with counter-high tables and a ledge to get a birds-eye view of all of the action.
