The Verizon Center Washington DC, formerly known as the MCI Center, first opened its doors on December 2, 1997. Located in Chinatown at 601 F Street, NW, the arena is accessible from I-395 or by the Metro Subway. The Gallary Place Chinatown station located at the arena for the Red, Yellow and Green lines. 

Verizon Center Washington DC, located in the Chinatown area of Washington is accessible from I-395 or by the Metro train. It's home of the NHL Washington Capitals and NBA Washington Wizards.

Nearby are many attractions and points of interest that you could spend your day at any one of them before heading to a game at the Verizon Center Washington DC. Right across the street is the Shakespeare Theatre Company. Down the street is the International Spy Museum and the world famous Ford's Theatre.  

The Verizon Center seats approximately 20,300 fans for games to see the Washington Wizards and 18,400 seats for games to see the Washington Capitals.

At The Arena

There are one hundred and six suites at the Verizon Center. If you have club seats or suite tickets, you can get into the Acela Club with great site views of the basketball court for the Washington Wizards games and the ice for the Washington Capitals games.

Owners Club is a club for full-season VIP ticket holders. .

The Coaches Club is for gold VIP ticket holders and located on the event level of the arena. 

Players Club has views that look out over the arena. This club has an entertainment area that includes pool tables, a fireplace, full bar and everything you might enjoy doing with your friends or entertaining a group of people. 

Restaurants…

There are many restaurants in the area to try out before or after a game at the Verizon Center Washington DC. Try one of these recommendations;

  • Tony Cheng's for Seafood and Mongolian food. They have an all-you-can-eat buffet. Located at 619 H Street, NW.
  • Carmine's for Italian food. Winner of a Rammy Award (for Washington area restaurants) as a favorite restaurant. Located at 425 7th Street NW at the Penn Quarter.
  • Matchbox for pizza. Located at 713 H Street. This is their original location. 
  • Vaccaro's Desserts when you're in the mood for a tasty treat.
  • District ChopHouse, serves steakhouse classics, paired with handcrafted Ales brewed on site. Located at 509 7th Street.
