The Staples Center, located downtown Los Angeles, first opened its doors on October 17, 1999.
It is the home to many sports teams including, the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA), the Los Angeles Clippers (NBA) and Los Angeles Sparks(WNBA) in basketball and the Los Angeles Kings hockey team (NHL).
It is also the home of the Los Angeles Avengers (AFL) arena football league team and the Los Angeles D-Fenders developmental league team for the NBA.
Clearly, the Staples Center hosts the more sports teams than any venue in the country.
Staples Center seating capacity seats 19,079 for basketball games and 18,118 for hockey games.
